WDSU New Orleans’ chief meteorologist Devon Lucie has been arrested in Louisiana following allegations of domestic violence.
According to local authorities, the arrest also involves charges of committing violence in the presence of a child.
Officials have confirmed that Lucie was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center after the incident.
Following his arrest, WDSU has placed him on indefinite leave from his position.
Police sources said Lucie is being charged under Louisiana’s “Gwen’s Law,” which imposes strict penalties in domestic violence cases, especially those involving children.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
Lucie has been with WDSU since 2021 and was promoted to chief meteorologist in August 2025.
His arrest is being seen as a major setback in his professional career.
