Pratapgarh, October 12, 2025:
In a swift and coordinated operation, Pratapgarh police arrested a drug smuggler who attempted to break through a police barricade and flee during a late-night checking drive.
According to police officials, the incident occurred on the Tanda Nakora route, where the police had set up barricades as part of an anti-narcotics operation. A car approaching the checkpoint tried to speed through, ignoring police warnings. When officers pursued, the driver allegedly attempted to run them over in a desperate bid to escape.
Displaying quick presence of mind, the police team managed to avoid injury and stopped the car after a short chase. The accused was identified as Bhupendra Siyana, a resident of Jodhpur. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found carrying 48 kg 470 g of opium doda chura hidden in three secret compartments.
The consignment and vehicle have been seized, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. The operation was carried out jointly by the Dhamotar Police Station, the District Police, and the Special Task Force.
Authorities said further interrogation is underway to uncover the smuggling network’s links across districts.

प्रतापगढ़ पुलिस ने एक अफीम तस्कर को पीछा कर पकड़ लिया, जो नाकाबंदी तोड़कर भागने की कोशिश कर रहा था।
जानकारी के अनुसार, घटना टांडा नकौरा मार्ग की है, जहां पुलिस की टीम नाकाबंदी कर रही थी। इसी दौरान एक कार तेज रफ्तार से आई और पुलिस बैरिकेड तोड़ते हुए भागने लगी। पुलिसकर्मियों ने पीछा किया, तो तस्कर ने उन पर गाड़ी चढ़ाने की कोशिश की।
पुलिस ने सतर्कता दिखाते हुए कार को रोका और आरोपी भूपेंद्र सियाग, निवासी जोधपुर, को गिरफ्तार किया। कार की तलाशी में 48 किलो 470 ग्राम अफीम डोडा चूरा बरामद हुआ, जो कार के तीन गुप्त खानों में छिपाया गया था।
पुलिस ने मादक पदार्थ अधिनियम (NDPS Act) के तहत मामला दर्ज कर लिया है। कार्रवाई धमोतार थाना पुलिस, जिला पुलिस, और विशेष टीम की संयुक्त टीम द्वारा की गई।
