Jaisalmer, Rajasthan | 13 October 2025:
In a tragic road accident near Gamnewala village in Tanot police station area of Jaisalmer district, an Indian Army Gypsy overturned, leading to the death of Major TST Bhardwaj (33) and injuries to four other Army officers.

According to police sources, five Army personnel were travelling from Ramgarh towards Longewala when their vehicle lost control near a curve and overturned. The impact left Major Bhardwaj critically injured. He was immediately rushed to Ramgarh Hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.

The injured have been identified as Lt. Colonel Prashant Rai (32), Major Amit (30), Major Prachi Shukla, and driver Naseeruddin. Major Amit suffered an eye injury, Major Prachi sustained a serious head injury, and driver Naseeruddin’s left ear was cut in the mishap. All are currently undergoing treatment at the Army hospital, and their condition is reported to be stable.

Upon receiving the information, police teams from Tanot and Ramgarh stations reached the site. ASI Achalram of Tanot police said that preliminary investigations suggest the Gypsy lost control at a curve and overturned. A detailed inquiry into the cause of the accident is underway.

The deceased, Major TST Bhardwaj, hailed from Andhra Pradesh. His body was sent for post-mortem, and later handed over to Army officials for further formalities.
