Amritsar, October 9, 2025:
Renowned Punjabi actor and international bodybuilder Varinder Singh Ghuman passed away on October 8, 2025, following a cardiac arrest during a minor biceps surgery at Fortis Hospital, Amritsar.

He was 47 years old. According to hospital sources, Ghuman suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while undergoing the procedure.

Varinder Ghuman was one of India’s most celebrated bodybuilders, having won the Mr. India (2009) title and finishing runner-up at Mr. Asia. He was also recognised globally as the first vegetarian professional bodybuilder.

In addition to bodybuilding, Ghuman appeared in several Punjabi and Hindi films — including Kabaddi Once Again, Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans, Marjaavaan, and Tiger 3 alongside Salman Khan.

His untimely demise has left both the fitness and Punjabi film industry in shock. Punjab’s Deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa called his passing “a major loss to the state’s sports and cinema fraternity.”

Fitness enthusiasts remembered Varinder Ghuman as a disciplined athlete who inspired an entire generation to embrace healthy living.
