Rohtak, October 12:
Social media platforms and several online outlets have been abuzz with claims that the Maham Chaubisi Khap Panchayat will honour Sant Rampal Maharaj today at the historic Chaubisi Chabutra in Maham, Haryana.
The claim originated from portals like SA News and was widely circulated through Instagram, Facebook and X posts, describing the event as a “historic honour” where the Khap would bestow the title “Protector of Humanity” on Sant Rampal.
However, no official confirmation has been released by the Khap Panchayat, local administration, or Haryana government so far.
Leading media outlets have also not published any independent verification of such an event.
In contrast, a report by Amar Ujala mentions that the Maham Chaubisi Khap may honour the followers (shishyas) of Sant Rampal, not the spiritual leader himself — adding a layer of confusion about the actual nature of the ceremony.
The “Chaubisi Chabutra” has been a traditional gathering place for 24 gotras’ Khap representatives in Haryana. If the ceremony takes place as claimed, it could mark a rare cultural intersection between religious and community leadership in the state.
For now, the story remains unverified, and JaisalmerNews.com will update this report once any official or verified confirmation emerges.
