Jodhpur: Following a tragic incident in Bhilwara involving an abandoned newborn, the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Jodhpur has launched a heartfelt appeal to the public: “If you cannot care for a newborn, please do not abandon them. Instead, give them to us.”
This message comes as the CWC took swift action in a recent case at Umaid Hospital. A family, for reasons unknown, decided they did not want to keep their newborn baby girl. Upon being informed of the situation, the CWC team immediately went to the hospital.
They conducted a detailed counselling session with the family, explaining the legal process for surrendering a child safely and responsibly. The CWC’s quick intervention ensures the baby’s safety and well-being, providing a legal and humane alternative to abandonment.
The CWC’s message is a crucial step in raising awareness and offering a lifeline for families in crisis. Their initiative aims to prevent such tragic incidents and ensure every child gets a chance at a safe life. They are encouraging people to contact them for help rather than resorting to illegal and dangerous acts of abandoning children.
