UP: ECI Prepared For Counting Of Votes In 80 Lok Sabha Seats

In Uttar Pradesh, The Election Commission of India has completed foolproof preparations for the counting of votes in 80 Lok Sabha seats, which is scheduled to begin at 8 AM tomorrow.
 
State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said that the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha general election will take place in 81 counting centres in 75 districts of the state.
 
All strong rooms, where polled EVMs are kept, are under three-layered security with inner cordon manned by Central Armed Forces. Concerned candidates have been watching the strong room arrangements through CCTV coverage 24×7.
 
Video and static cameras have been installed at all the counting centres, and media centres have also been set up. All required protocols will be followed keeping in loop the candidates of all political parties.
 
CEO Mr Rinwa informed that, Counting of votes will be done at two centres each in Agra, Meerut, Azamgarh, Deoria, Sitapur, and Kushinagar districts. Besides, the counting of votes for 8 Lok Sabha constituencies will take place in 3 districts, while the counting of votes for 37 Lok Sabha constituencies will take place in 2 districts, and the counting of votes in 35 Lok Sabha constituencies will take place in one district.
 
The CEO said that to monitor the counting process, the Election Commission of India has deployed 179 Central observers.
