SKM Leader Prem Singh Tamang To Take Over As Chief Minister Of Sikkim Tomorrow

In Sikkim, the swearing-in ceremony of Prem Singh Tamang as Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers will be held at 4 PM tomorrow, at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok.
 
Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Tamang and his Council of Ministers. The SKM chief Tamang will take oath for the second term.
 
In light of the swearing-in ceremony, all government and private schools, colleges, and academic institutions within Gangtok Municipal Corporation area will remain closed tomorrow.
 
This decision aims to accommodate the security arrangements and vehicle movement restrictions in the area.
 
It may be noted that Mr. Tamang, leading the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), retained power for a second term with a significant majority, winning 31 out of 32 seats in the Sikkim Legislative Assembly Elections, 2024.
 
The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) secured just one seat, with its President and former Chief Minister Pawan  Chamling being defeated in both the seats he contested.
