Rescue Operation Concludes After West Bengal Train Collision; 8 Dead, 50 Injured: Railway Board CEO

Chairman and CEO of Railway Board Jaya Varma said that a rescue operation has been completed wherein a goods train collided with Kanchanjunga Express in West Bengal this morning. She said, eight passengers lost their lives in the accident. She said, the Loco Pilot who disregarded the signal had died and also the guard of Kanchenjunga Express had lost his life. She said the injured have been admitted to the nearby North Bengal College. She said, around 50 people got injured in the accident. She said, help desks have been established at all railway stations along Agartala- Sealdah route.
