More Than 13,000 Pilgrims Visit Holy Cave Shrine Of Amarnath On First Day Of Annual Pilgrimage Amid Tight Security

More than 13,000 pilgrims visited the holy cave shrine of Amarnath yesterday on the first day of the annual pilgrimage in the south Kashmir Himalayas amid tight security. Meanwhile, another batch (3rd batch from Jammu) of 6619 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp in Jammu for the Kashmir valley to perform a pilgrimage to Amarnath Cave Shrine chanting ‘Bam Bam Bhole’, the pilgrims left the base camp in a cavalcade of 319 early this morning. These included 5143 Men, 1141 Women, 18 Children,241 Sadhus & 76 Sadhvies ( female sadhus). Of these 2781 pilgrims left for Baltal at 3:50 AM and 3838 for Pahalgam base camp started their journey at 4:45 AM. With this, the number of pilgrims who left for the Amarnath cave shrine from the Jammu base camp climbs to 15,251.
