Kerala: IMD Issues Orange Alert For Heavy Rainfall In Three Districts & Yellow Alert In Nine Districts

In Kerala, heavy rain continued to wreck havoc in the state. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in three districts and yellow alert in nine districts for today.
 
As heavy rain continues, large-scale agriculture damage is being reported from across the State. Severe water logging is continuing in low lying regions and sea erosion is rampant in coastal areas. Landslide alert is issued in hilly regions.NDRF teams are being deployed in nine severely affected districts.Relief camps have been opened in all worst hit districts including Pathanamthitta, , Idukki, Wayanad and Thiruvananthapuram.
 
Holiday has been declared for all educational institutions today in Alappuzha and Kottayam districts while schools that function as relief camps will remain shut in Pathanamthitta. Ban on night travel, tourism and quarrying continues in hilly regions. Fisherfolks are warned from venturing into the sea in the Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coast.
