Thirteen people died and four were injured when the Tempo Traveller they were traveling in hit a truck parked on the roadside near Gundenahalli Cross in Byadgi Taluk of Haveri district in Karnataka.
Among the dead are eight women and two children. The accident occurred early this morning on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway. Those deceased belonged to Yemmihatti village in Holehonnur in Shivamogga district. They were returning after visiting Savadatti Yelamma devi temple and other places of religious significance. The four injured have been admitted to Haveri district hospital. The police chief from Haveri visited the accident spot, and a case has been booked regarding the incident.
