J&K: IGP Kashmir Reviews Security Measures For Smooth Amarnath Yatra 2024

In Jammu and Kashmir, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone V.K. Birdi took stock of the arrangements for the peaceful conduct of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2024 during a meeting at the Police Control Room Kashmir yesterday.
 
On this occasion, the participating officers briefed the IGP Kashmir through a PowerPoint presentation (PPT) of the security plan, including the specific requirements of their respective districts and security arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra this year. While directing the officers, V.K. Birdi closely examined the SOPs formulated for coordinating security efforts and ensuring a unified approach to managing exigencies arising out of operational, natural, and manmade disasters.
 
He reviewed the deployment and operational readiness of the road opening parties, stressing the need for vigilant patrolling and monitoring along highways. Mr Birdi also instructed the officers to ensure robust night dominance to prevent any untoward incidents during the night.
