IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall Across South & Central India As Southwest Monsoon Advances

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over south India for the next five days. The Southwest Monsoon has advanced into some more parts of the Arabian Sea, Gujarat, parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Jharkhand. It is likely to advance further in the next few days. Light rainfall at many places, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, is likely today over West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
 
Rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is very likely over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha during the next 5 days. In north-eastern India and west Bengal, heavy to very heavy rainfall will continue to prevail for the next five days.
