IMD Issues Red Alert For Heavy Rain In Isolated Places Of Kumaon Region Of Uttarakhand

In Uttarakhand, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for very heavy to extremely heavy rain in isolated places of the Kumaon region until the fourth of July.
 
Additionally, orange and yellow alerts have also been issued for heavy rain in some parts of the Garhwal region today. Because of the warning of heavy rain, a holiday has been declared in schools and Anganwadi centres in all the districts of the Kumaon region today, July 2. The monsoon has now completely arrived in Uttarakhand. Most parts of the state have been experiencing light to moderate rains since last night.
 
According to the Met Department, the red alert of very heavy to extremely heavy rain in the Kumaon division of the state will continue till July 4, while other parts of the state will also experience heavy rains during this period. In view of weather warnings, the general public and tourists have been asked to remain alert and not to venture on river banks.
