Aam Aadmi Party MP Swati Maliwal has today alleged systematic dismantling of the Delhi Commission for Women by the Delhi Government. In a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Ms. Maliwal hit out at the Delhi government for reportedly destroying the systems built during the time she helmed the commission. She has cited alleged issues of non-payment of salary, budget cuts, removal of staff and vacancy of leadership positions. She also expressed concern over the withdrawal of the women’s helpline number. Ms. Maliwal has demanded the intervention of Mr. Kejriwal in the matter and requested him to ensure that the responsibilities towards the women and children of the National Capital are upheld by the Delhi government.
