Rescue Operations In The Army Tank Mishap At Ladakh Complete; Bodies Of All Five Soldiers Recovered

In Ladakh, the rescue operation for the mishap of T.72 tank near Line of Actual  Control areas on the Indo-China border during a warfare exercise occurred last night has concluded today.  
 

Army Spokesperson at Leh has said bodies of all the five soldiers who were killed in the mishap have been recovered.
The mishap occurred at the time of an exercise of tank warfare going on in the Daulat Beg Ode area near the line of actual control (LAC) during which the Shyok River, through which the tanks were passing, suddenly got flooded.
 

Earlier, in an Official Statement, defense spokesperson in Leh said that the mishap occurred while deinducting from a military training activity, an army T-72 tank got stuck in the Shyok River, near Saser Brangsa, Eastern Ladakh due to sudden increase in the water level. Chairman, Dy Chairman and Councillors of local government at Leh expressed great sadness on the tragic loss of our brave soldiers and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families and near and dear to the soldiers.
