Rajya Sabha Takes Up Discussion On ‘Motion Of Thanks’ On President’s Speech

The Rajya Sabha today took up discussion on the motion of thanks on the President Dropoudi Murmu’s address to the joint sitting of Parliament amidst opposition’s ruckus on the NEET examination issue. A total of 21 hours have been allotted for the discussion. Initiating the discussion, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi highlighted the achievements of the government in the last ten years. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, he said, the NDA has got more vote shares in the Southern states in comparison to the Congress party. The BJP MP added that the Congress party failed to get three digit marks in Lok Sabha in the third attempt. Mr. Trivedi said that India has become the fifth largest economy in the world leaving behind Great Britain. He said that the government has distributed 34 crore LED bulbs which shows its commitment towards green energy.
 
 
Another party MP Rakesh Sinha also criticized the Congress for undermining the Constitution. He said, the opposition works with the mindset of flexible morals which means whenever they win elections they praise EVM while they criticize the EVM when they face defeat.
 
YSR Congress MP Gola Babu Rao praised the BJP-led government for abrogating Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. He said architect of the Indian Constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was in favour of abrogation of article 370 in J&K. He also asked Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu to demand for special category status to Andhra Pradesh as he is also an alliance partner in the National Democratic Alliance. He said Andhra Pradesh lacks on development indices and according special status would help in overall development of the state.
 

Kavita Patidar, Krishna Lal Panwar, Dr. Bhim Singh, Dr. Anil Bonde, Ram Chander Jangra of BJP and others participated in the discussion. The discussion is underway.
