Kanchanjunga Express Accident: Normal Movement Of Trains Restored

After yesterday’s train accident near Rangapani station in Darjeeling district near New Jalpaiguri Station normal movement of trains has been restored. Northeast Frontier Railway informed that Avadh Assam Express had moved at around 10:42 am in the morning through the down line which was restored at 7:30 today. The Up line was restored last evening at 5:40.

Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 10 in the accident. Ten seriously injured are being treated at different hospitals. Janak Kumar Garg, Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety has started statutory inquiry in this accident. The dead body of parcel van employee Sankar Mohan Das of 13174 Agartala Sealdah Kanchenjungha Express arrived today at his residence in Kolkata.
