Aam Aadmi Party today staged protests across multiple locations including the national capital against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister and party convener Arvind Kejriwal. In Delhi, the AAP surrounded BJP headquarters and displayed placards accusing the central government of misuse of government agencies like Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Senior AAP leader and Delhi Minister Gopal Rai said that the BJP wants to keep Mr Kejriwal in jail by any means and has now resorted to using the CBI. Mr Rai also asked why did the ED challenge the Delhi trial court’s decision to grant bail to Chief Minister Kejriwal.

On the other hand, BJP alleged that Aam Aadmi Party organized the protest to divert the attention of people from water logging in Delhi. Delhi BJP President Virendrav Sachdeva refuted Gopal Rai’s allegations and said that CBI has alleged that Kejriwal has not cooperated in the investigation. Mr Sachdeva also welcomed the court’s decision to send Arvind Kejriwal to 14 days of judicial custody.
