Sensex And Nifty End Flat

India’s Equity Benchmark Indices, Sensex and Nifty ended flat on Tuesday (2nd July 2024), erasing Early gains.
 

The Sensex dropped 35 points, or 0.04 percent, to close at 79,441. Nifty declined 18 points, or 0.07 percent, to settle at 24,124.
 

Both the indexes rose about 0.4 percent each to record high levels at the open.
 

In the NSE Nifty, 231 Companies hit their 52 week high, 15 hit their 52 week low.
 

In the broader market at the BSE, Mid-Cap index down by 0.57 percent while the Small-cap index marginally up by 0.07 percent.
 

In the Sensex index, 11 out of 30 companies registered gains.
 

The top three gainers today were Larson and Toubro 2.74 percent, Infosys 1.97 percent and HDFC Bank 1.51 percent.
 

Conversely, the three major laggards were, Bharti Airtel 2.38 percent, Kotak Bank 2.16 percent and Tata Motors 2 percent.
 

In Sectoral Indices at the BSE, 8 out of 20 logged gains.
 

The top three gainers were, Information Technology 1.09 percent, Realty 0.88 percent and Industrials 0.5 percent.
 

Whereas, Telecommunication 1.31 percent, Bankex 0.91 percent and Auto 0.74 percent were the three major laggards.
 

The overall Market breadth at the BSE was positive. Out of 4008 Companies, the shares of 2036 companies advanced, 1880 declined and 92 remain unchanged.
